BOTOX® and XEOMIN® are injectable neuromodulators designed to temporarily relax specific facial muscles responsible for expression lines and wrinkles.

Everyday facial movements—smiling, squinting, raising your eyebrows, or concentrating—cause the muscles beneath your skin to repeatedly contract. Over time, these movements can create lines that remain visible even when your face is at rest.

BOTOX® and XEOMIN® are both FDA-approved neuromodulators made with botulinum toxin type A. They work in essentially the same way by temporarily reducing muscle activity in precisely targeted areas.

The primary difference is in their formulation. XEOMIN® contains only the active neurotoxin without the accessory proteins found in BOTOX®.

Both can produce beautiful, natural-looking cosmetic results. The best choice for you can depend on your treatment area, goals, previous experience with injectables, and your provider’s recommendation.

What to Expect

Treatment is quick and performed right here in our office. Using a very fine needle, small amounts of BOTOX® or XEOMIN® are strategically injected into specific facial muscles based on your anatomy and desired result.

There is typically little to no downtime, and most patients can return to their normal activities shortly afterward.

Results begin to develop gradually over the following several days, with the full effect becoming visible within approximately two weeks. Results typically last 3–4 months, although this varies by individual and treatment area.
