What Is EMVITAL?
EMVITAL is an advanced 1064 nm functional laser system featuring BTL’s proprietary TriHIL™ technology.
At TMJ Relief 360, we use EMVITAL® functional laser therapy as a noninvasive treatment option to target painful, tight, and overworked muscles and joints associated with TMJ disorders and parafunctional habits such as clenching and grinding.
EMVITAL delivers controlled laser energy to gently heat targeted tissues, helping temporarily relieve muscle and joint pain and stiffness, increase local circulation, relieve muscle spasm, and promote muscle relaxation.
As laser energy reaches the targeted tissues, it produces a controlled therapeutic warming effect.

Why We Use EMVITAL for TMJ Disorders
The temporomandibular joint does not function independently.
Every time you chew, swallow, speak, yawn, or clench your teeth, a coordinated network of muscles works around the jaw, face, head, and neck.
When those muscles become chronically tense or overworked, they can become painful and fatigued. This is particularly common in patients who clench or grind their teeth.
Instead of focusing exclusively on the joint itself, EMVITAL gives us another way to address the muscular component of TMJ pain.

TMJ disorders can involve the joint, the surrounding muscles, or a combination of both.
Muscular TMD commonly affects the masseter and temporalis muscles, which are heavily involved in chewing and clenching. Trigger points and muscle tension in these areas may produce pain directly over the muscle or contribute to pain felt elsewhere in the face and head.
EMVITAL allows us to deliver targeted therapeutic heat to these painful and stiff areas to promote relaxation and temporary relief.
Depending on your diagnosis, EMVITAL may be used on its own or incorporated alongside other conservative TMJ therapies.
Neck Pain & Stiffness
The jaw and neck work together as part of an interconnected muscular system. That’s why TMJ patients often experience neck tension, stiffness, or discomfort alongside their jaw symptoms.

What Does an EMVITAL Treatment Feel Like?
EMVITAL is noninvasive, soothing, and comfortable. It feels like a touchless hot-stone massage.
During treatment, the applicator is positioned over the targeted area while the system delivers laser energy into the tissue.
As the tissue temperature increases, you’ll typically experience a gradual, soothing warmth.
Treatments take less than 30 minutes, and you can return to your normal activities immediately afterward.
